According to a Locke Lord post, in one of his last executive orders President Trump asked government agencies and contractors to check unmanned aircraft and systems for software or electronic components manufactured by "foreign adversaries" and replace them.
The adversaries in question include China, which manufactures many of the suspect devices.
Departments and agencies are to report tainted equipment to the Office of Management and Budget and the Director of National Intelligence. The Director is to report to the President, and the FAA is to prepare new regulations.
Despite the timing, this is not a bad idea. China is known for cyber espionage, and the order could stimulate American manufacturers to replace the suspect equipment.
