COVID-19 has forced healthcare organizations to accelerate digital transformation and cloud adoption. According to a global survey from Trend Micro, 88% of healthcare organizations have done so. The three main reasons for moving to cloud based environments are remote working, cost savings and improved IT agility.
Along with the advantages there are increased security threats:
- 43% of respondents reported a skills shortage.
- Over 30% were challenged by setting and maintaining policies, patching and vulnerability management, and/or misconfiguration.
- 43% of respondents spent more on capital expenses and contracted services. 39% spent more on operations and training.
- Only 40% were confident they secured their part of the Shared Responsibility Model.
