"The Mother of All Breaches"

January 24, 2024

Researchers from Security Discovery and CyberNews have discovered a database of 26 BILLION leaked records - the largest ever. This appears to be a compilation of records from previous data breaches and leaks. While little of this data is new and there are duplications, the usernames and passwords disclosed could be used for identity theft, phishing schemes, targeted cyber attacks and unauthorized access to personal and sensitive accounts.

Data from U.S. and Chinese platforms and services - including Twitter, LinkedIn, Dropbox, Adobe and Telegram - have been found in the database.

Users need to be on the alert for increased phishing attempts and credential stuffing attacks. The best defense is strong and unique passwords not reused and two factor authentication.
